Colours of the sun and sound of the sea…

Way back in 1972 the original ‘Castaways’ motel was built in a unique location taking advantage of the splendid isolation of the Marcus high dunes, it’s magnificent sweeping beach and its views across the blue Pacific Ocean.  This has always been a very popular holiday location for beachgoers.

Castaways Creek meandered through the dunes, its shady banks sheltering a display of ferns and rainforest palms.  The higher dunes, clothed in the soft greens and golds of coastal banksias, were the home of brightly darting lorikeets in all the colours of the rainbow.

In 1996 a new Castaway Covearose from the site, reaffirming its long established reputation as an escape from the pressure of the outside world.  The setting remains the same today, the natural bushland still thrives as do all the wildlife.  The new Castaway CoveResort provides a style that is in complete harmony with nature, yet remains in touch with the relaxed lifestyle of Noosa.

Castaway Coveis well known as “Noosa’s Peaceful Alternative”.

A place where you can leave not only the stressful business world behind, but also the strains of a high-pressured holiday package.  A place where you won’t be woken by  midnight revellers in the streets below, or irritated by the blast of a radio across a crowded expanse of beach umbrellas.  You are only likely to be woken by the gentle sounds of ocean waves lapping on the beach, or by the dawn chorus of the native birdlife.

You can stroll an empty beach in the early morning, confident of finding treasure no-one else has seen – perhaps the sight of dolphins cresting the waves, or a majestic hump back whale meandering along the coastline.   You can catch a fish for dinner at dusk, or watch your children rediscover the simple joys of building castles in the sand.

A Unique Design

When designing Castaway Cove, Architects Thomson Adsett and Partners, worked to integrate a visually stunning development with the natural vegetation and topography of the site in order to maximize its perfect north-easterly aspect.

By designing around the site’s natural attributes, they were able to take advantage of the winter sun, summer shade and cooling sea breezes to allow guests to spend their leisure time outdoors.  Decks for sunning… huge glassed areas for watching the sun rise… positioning and landscaping for privacy and seclusion.

An interesting mix of dwelling types and sizes allows the complex to cater for the needs of large groups, families, couples and singles.  The choice of finishes reflects the sub-tropical climate and relaxed lifestyle of the area. Castaway Cove is faithful to its history and yet it is history-in-the-making.  It’s uniquely yours.

Relaxation by Noosa

The simplest way to describe Castaway Cove’s location is to mention the magic word ‘Noosa’, where you can sit at a sidewalk café to see and be seen by the glitterati, dine alfresco under the stars, ‘shop til you drop’ in the elegant boutiques of Hastings Street, or stroll along the beachfront boardwalk of Main Beach.

At Castaway Cove guests can spend their leisure time in peaceful seclusion, surfing and sunbathing on what amounts to your own private beach, but when you want outside contact, whether to dine, to shop or to play sports, the facilities are all around you.

Castaway Cove is just a 7 minute drive from Hastings Street, the hub of Noosa – far enough to escape the hustle and bustle, noise and parking difficulties, yet near enough to enjoy the contact when you choose to do so.

If you want beachfront accommodation for a family holiday, a weekend getaway for a large group, or a luxury romantic hideaway for two in fabulous Noosa,  then Castaway Cove has it all.
