Climate

Visitors to Noosa can enjoy one of the world’s most ideal climates with an average annual temperature of 25 ºC (77 ºF), and the daily maximum rarely dropping below 20 ºC (68 ºF).   Noosa’s sub-tropical climate is “beautiful one day, perfect the next" - ideal for swimming, outdoor activities, alfresco dining and outdoors style accommodation.  Tempered by the ocean it is never unbearingly hot or freezing cold, averaging 7 hours of sunshine daily.

The coldest month is July with an average daily maximum of 21.1 ºC (70.0 ºF) and minimum 10.9 ºC (51.6 ºF). January is the hottest month with an average daily maximum of 28.4 ºC (83.1 ºF) and minimum of 21.9 ºC (71.4 ºF).

Shorts and t-shirts are the go for most of the year, but bring something warm to wear in winter. The skies are generally cloud free and crystal clear during the winter season and perfect for warming yourself in the sun.

Rain can be expected at any time of the year but the wettest period is January to March. Humidity can be uncomfortable on late summer afternoons at around 74%.

Tropical lightning storms are common in the summer months. Cyclones are very rare and Noosa is very well prepared for any such emergency.

The ocean, rivers and lakes around Noosa are swimmable all year round with water temperatures ranging from a mild 19 ºC (66 ºF) in winter to 25 ºC (77 ºF) in summer.
